Hazel Clementine’s First Birthday!
I can’t believe our baby girl is one. ONE. This past year with Hazel in our lives has been incredible. We celebrated her first birthday with lots of fresh cut roses and hydrangeas and rose flavored cupcakes. I ordered the same sweet birthday dress that Georgia wore for her first birthday, but with Hazel’s name embroidered to it. Tucked away now as a keepsake.
We planned a simple party for Hazel and invited some family. Being our third child, Hazel hasn’t gotten as much attention as the older two and was very shy the whole entire time. Eric and I took turns holding her as she snuggled in for closeness, feeling the warmth of our embrace comfort her.
Hazel was nearly on the verge of tears after we all sang Happy Birthday to her, not being the type to enjoy too much attention.
Hazel has taught me so much about love and what makes family. That family is who wants to be in your life, accepts you for who you are, loves you no matter what, and loves to see you smile.
