I remember the day I found out I was pregnant again and feeling the joy and excitement that comes with the promise of another amazing happiness I was already blessed to know. The news came only days before Calvin’s 2nd Birthday as I was hunched over the cold porcelain of the toilet. A pregnancy test only confirmed my symptoms. I remember laying in my bed late that night thinking about all the fun ways I wanted to share our joyful news with others.
The anticipation of finding out whether we were having a boy or girl… almost to much to bare! Nesting is almost an instantaneous reaction when I see those two bold pink lines on a pregnancy stick. When I was pregnant with Calvin with each night his birth came closer, I would go into his room and reposition baby books, smooth out wrinkles in his bedding, and straighten and organize all his baby things so that nothing was out of place. Afterwards I would sit in the rocking glider, hands on my belly and think. A different kind of readying, somehow mustering any effort to prepare myself for labor and what having a newborn baby would be like.
And so this journey began…
Having a surprise gender reveal… WORTH!
Having our reaction recorded in photographs when finding out we would have a daughter, PRICELESS!
